I bought Deter for my dog to treat him to stop eating his poop... my dog only weighs 8 lbs though, what to do?

The package says that you should feed 1 tablet per day for every 10 lbs in weight....is it bad to give 1 tablet even though he's not 10 lbs? Has anyone used this and had success?
