Is the wireless internetwork at remote place?

Hey guys, i am a boarding school student. My school is far away from the town, a remote place in the mountain area, but my cell phone(company is att) still can connect signal. The problem is i want to get a wireless internet in my dorm. Is it can connect signal than surf internet? If that work? which company is better that i can chose? Please tell more more detail and informational. I'm not good at this!! By the way, i live in Santa Paula, California . Thanks you guys.....
