The number of children threatening suicide has tripled in the last five years - why?

Too much pressure to succeed, it starts in reception cl and continues all the way through school and into university. There are so many choices for youngsters to make these days at such a tender age, personally I think they can be reaching burn out even before they leave education, and what do they have to look forward to when they leave their universities? No chance on the housing ladder, no decent job and large debts. I do worry about how my children cope with it all and I also remember my parents saying the same in the 70's about my brother and I but I do think that each generation has higher mountains to climb than the preceeding one and this only adds to the burdens on the tender teenage mind. So nanny state I dont think so just more and more pressure.
